Nina's Story
The Rescue Dog
Before adoption

I (Terry Pollard) adopted Nina a (Belgian Malinios) February 5th 2024. I first saw Nina in a adoption video from the Catoosa County Animal Shelter Ringgold, Ga. and I thought what a cute dog, but I didn't think much of her at that time.

I just recently lost one of my dogs her name was Shena a Pyrenees Hound mix a gentle giant she was 12 years old. I have another dog named Raven, I rescued her from a veteran friend a few years ago, she was dumped on his front porch in Cleveland, TN. a black lab she is 4 years old. Raven is now an outdoor dog who watches over my chickens. Then one day I started thinking about Nina again and then I went to the shelter looking to adopt her and I asked for her by name. The Animal Control Officers were surprised and excited to finally get Nina adopted.

The day she was adopted

I and my wife Michelle went to the back of the shelter too see Nina and I bent down to one knee I started bounding with her within 10 minutes. I later found out why she was there, her last owner had passed away and the living spouse could not handle her. Nina also had four puppies which were all adopted, but she was having a hard time being adopted herself. Nina is very high energy and intimidating to most people and she had already been there for 3 months, most likely because of her puppies. I feel we adopted her in time before being put down, she will be two years old February 2025.

Waiting me to come outside

At first my wife did not want any more indoor animals since we lost our cat Lola the summer of 2023, she was 15 years old. But we decided to adopt her and my wife bounded and fell in love with her very quickly, she is now part of the family. We spoil Nina with lots of toys and exercise in the country running through the woods where we live. I later found out she has some training and I am building off that more and more every day. I rescued Nina and I think she has rescued me in some ways to focus more on the positive things in life and not so much on the negative things of this world, DOG spelled backwards is GOD.

Now I'm opening up this shop in her honor and hopefully helping others to rescue and adopt more dogs and cats, health and wellness, training etc., A year ago I would have never thought I would be opening up a pet supply shop in Ringgold, GA., but here we are. If you know me and read my background then you'll know what I mean.
